ST. PATRICK’S SEMINARY CHAPEL
Lighting for this awe-inspiring chapel within a working seminary never had been updated. Ross De Alessi turned what was a dimly lit area into a celebration of architecture and light for education, contemplation and prayer. All of the new lighting is concealed within the body of the architecture.

Ross De Alessi’s relighting of Bernard Maybeck’s Beaux Arts-style historical monument combined extensive historical research and private fundraising with an arduous civic and community appeals process. Before it could be installed, the lighting required and received approval from The Recreation and Park Commission (the owner), The Arts Commission, two neighborhood associations and The Landmarks Preservation Advisory Board.
